According to CardPlayer Latin America, Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan first lost $7 million and then won $25 million in recent high stakes cash games in Macau.

Although the crazy high stakes actions running at the StarWorld casino in Macau have always been known to the public, the latest report of the CardPlayer Latin America magazine has gained considerable attention: according to reliable sources, Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan has won a total of $25 million in a single session.

“One of our friends was playing in a HKD 50/100 (USD 6/12) NLHE game, next to a table where Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan was actively participating in a HKD 50,000/100,000 (USD 6,000/12,000) no limit game. The minimum buy-in was 100 big blinds, or $1,200,000. They were playing 4-handed, with two more pros and a billionaire.

“It seems Dwan was the only Western pro allowed to play such limits, thanks to his aggressive style. He contributes to a lot of action, which they love, while the tighter game style of other Western pros is not to the taste of the Asian gamblers.

“According to our source, Dwan lost $7 million one day and returned to the United Sates with the promise of a rematch that took place last week. The American booked a record victory, he won $25 million on a $15,000/$30,000 table” – CardPlayer LA reports, adding that anyone who is a maniac player and has a couple of millions of dollars should head to Macau as the opponents are still not part of the world class elite as far as their poker knowledge is concerned.

While many still doubt the validity of the news of the $25 million winning session, if there is a place this could happen, it is StarWorld. Some argue that it is highly unusual to have a HKD 50/100 table, that of the source, placed next to the highest stakes one and Dwan was not playing in a private room. However, several pros confirmed that this happens at StarWorld regularly.

If the story is true, it makes it more understandable for ‘durrrr’ to sacrifice his contract with FTP and part of his reputation – which has been decreased to an extent since the Durrrr Challenge 2 – in order to be able to play in Macau.
